Dimensions
The length of the four-ball unit is approximately eleven and one-half inches, and includes a slack length of one and one-half inches to allow for device flexibility and positional spacing of balls.
The length of the eight-ball unit is about twenty-two inches and also further includes a slack length of about two inches for similar purposes as applied to the four-ball unit.
Bed of Balls will easily fit inside of a handbag, gym bag, briefcase and carry-on bag and can be taken just about anywhere.
Tennis Balls
Standard tennis balls become soft and lose their pressure quickly. Pressureless balls, which are used in Bed of Balls, maintain their pressure almost indefinitely. Bed of Balls is used for massaging and acupressure purposes. Therefore, the balls are not subject to the repeated, forceful striking that occurs when playing tennis.
Additionally, the fact that holes are made in the pressureless balls does not affect their consistency; it should be noted that it requires 35 pounds of pressure to make a hole in a tennis ball.
Snaphooks and Rings
The snaphooks and rings on Bed of Balls are made of acetel commonly known by the brand name Delrin. Delrin is a thermoplastic polymer manufactured by the polymerization of formaldehyde. The chemical composition, regular structure and high crystallinity of acetal resins give parts made of acetal a combination of physical properties not available with metals or other plastics.
Since its commercial introduction in 1960, acetal has been used in the automotive, appliance, plumbing, construction, hardware, electronics and consumer goods industries.
String
The string used to connect the balls is polyester, pre-waxed Marine Brand twine that allows the balls to slide and be easily moved between the hooks and rings.
